Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
1kg potatoes peeled and chopped
2 tbsp (30ml) milk
1 medium onion chopped
2 medium carrots peeled and chopped
25g butter
350g minced lamb
275ml hot lamb stock
1 tbsp (15ml) worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp (15ml) cornflour
1 tbsp (15ml) tomato puree
50g cheddar cheese grated

Steps

1

Place potatoes in a large Pyrex® casserole dish with 3 tbsp (45 ml) water. Cover and cook on Medium Microwave for 15-17 minutes until soft. Drain and mash well with the milk.

2

Place onion, carrots, and butter into the same large Pyrex® casserole dish. Cook on Medium Microwave for 5-7 minutes or until soft.

3

Add minced lamb to the vegetables. Stir in hot lamb stock, Worcestershire sauce, cornflour, and tomato puree. Season to taste. Cover and cook on High Microwave for 15 minutes.

4

Transfer the meat mixture into a large Pyrex® gratin dish. Spread mashed potatoes on top of the meat, using a fork to create a pattern. Sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese.

5

Place the gratin dish on the base of the oven and cook on Combi 1 (Grill 1+ Microwave 300W) for approximately 20 minutes or until the top is crisp and golden.
