Spelt and Chocolate Bread

11g dry sourdough starter
300g white spelt flour
100g whole spelt flour
2 tbsp sunflower seed oil
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tbsp himalayan pink salt
300ml water
100g dark chocolate

Steps

Remove the baking pan with the kneading blade from the breadmaker and add all the ingredients – except for the chocolate – in top-to-bottom order.

Place the pan in the breadmaker, close the lid, select menu 5 and press the start button.

Use a knife to coarsely chop the chocolate.

Before the rising phase (approx. 1h 25min - 1h 55min after the start of the programme) an acoustic signal and flashing hand symbol on the display will notify you that an additional ingredient must be added, in this case chocolate. Open the lid and add the chopped chocolate. Close the lid and press the start button.

When baked, remove the bread and let it cool down.

Slice the bread.
