Steamed chicory mash with roasted pear, walnuts, and Roquefort

This gorgeous steamed chicory mash with roasted pear, walnuts, and Roquefort is not only very tasty, but the vitamin C also gives you a health boost!

Steps

Peel and dice the potatoes.

Add 150ml water in the Steam+ Pot and place the round metal disc with the holes inside on top.

Place the potatoes and the garlic clove on the disc and put the lid on the pan.

Set the microwave to 1000 Watt and steam the potatoes for 18 minutes.

In the meantime, dice the chicory in cubes of about 2x2 cm.

Cut the pears in four parts, remove the core, roast them in a griddle pan until they have a pretty griddle mark.

After roasting, dice the pears in smaller cubes but remember to keep some on the side for presentation.

Add the chicory to the potatoes and steam for four more minutes at 1000 Watt. (Check whether there still is enough water in the pan. Add some if necessary.)

Roast the walnuts in a dry skillet.

Put the potatoes and chicory in a large pan or dish and mash until you have a coarse purée.

Crumble half of the Roquefort and sprinkle it on top. Add the diced pears and the walnuts. After that add salt and pepper. You can serve it on the plates with some more Roquefort and two pieces of roasted pear.
